RECIPE 10: Sichuan Boiled Beef | CHEN 🌶️

INGREDIENTS
Sichuan peppercorn
Hotpot sauce
Dried pepper
Ginger
Cooking wine
(Corn) Starch
Ground pepper
Salt
Garlic
Scallions (or spring onions)
Light soy sauce
Oyster sauce
Bullfrog (it’s really hard to find here. We can use diced beef instead, and/or tofu for vegan options)
Bean sprouts

RECIPE
1. Marinate the beef with ginger, cooking wine, corn starch, and grounded pepper for 20 mins.
2. Heat the oil in the pot, put in ginger, peppercorns, garlic, then hot pot sauce and spring onion.
3. Put vegetables in.
4. Put the beef in.
5. Wait for everything to be cooked — done!!

Lu: Where do you reckon the first ever supermarket was?
Chen: Maybe somewhere in Germany?
Lu: Oo yeah.
*Eva looks it up, gives ‘I have a treat for you’ face*
Eva: The first ever supermarket was... Piggly Wiggly.
Chen: What?
Lu: WHAT? Piggly Wiggly? That’s a shop?!
Eva nods
Lu: You’re lying!
Eva: Seriously - Piggly Wiggly. Opened in 1916 in Memphis, United States. Annnd it says they still have over 500 stores to this day!
